FAQ

Where is your office located?
Currently, Mental Embrace is entirely remote, which means you can meet with our therapists from the comfort of wherever you are.
What are your office hours?
We do our best to be flexible and work with your schedule. We also allow our therapists an opportunity to work with their schedules. We can usually accommodate session time requests between 7 am and 9 pm. Please, still ask if you are looking for something a little different.
What do I do to get started?
Call us today for your free 15-minute consultation. We will have you complete a brief electronic version of the new client paperwork that we will send to your email address. You can complete the paperwork electronically. Once we receive the paperwork, we will schedule your intake session.
How do I pay?
We require payment before the start of a session. There is a place in your portion of the client portal that allows you to enter payment. We can walk through this with you in your initial session.
Do you accept insurance?

We only offer the option of cash payment. We will provide superbills that you can use to support HSA and FSA funds for services.

If you have further questions about insurance use, please give us a call, and we will do our best to guide you in the right direction.

Can I cancel my appointment?
Yes, you can cancel your scheduled appointments. Because our therapists’ time is also important to us, we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. We will charge 50% of the session price if you fail to cancel 24 hours before your appointment time.
What can I expect in the first session?

An intake session provides both the therapist and client an opportunity to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic alliance. The therapist will typically gather a lot of information during the initial session and elaborate on this information as therapy progresses.

Because we believe that these sessions are for your benefit, our therapists are very lenient with the session structure.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

We are incredibly comfortable with tears. Crying is not required, but it is always acceptable because it is a healthy release that can be very healing.

Therapists often see a client crying as a sign that they are working through something that could lead to immense healing; therefore, crying could signify that the therapy is on the right track.

Do I have to tell you everything?
We never force anyone to tell us anything; however, the more honest you are with yourself and us, the more benefit you are likely to receive from your efforts in therapy.
Do you take notes?
Every therapist is different. Some take notes during a session; others jot down notes after completing a session. We will document a basic session note in a HIPPA-compliant electronic medical record system.
Will I like my therapist?
We think it is essential that clients have a strong therapeutic rapport with their therapists. It is okay if the first therapist you try is not the best fit for you. Our biased opinion, though, is that our therapists are pretty great!
What services do you offer?

Currently, we offer individual therapy for adolescents and adults.

If you are looking for something else, feel free to give us a call, and we will see if we can accommodate what you need.

We are also working on developing virtual community groups to expand the ways we can engage and work with our clients to improve their overall well-being.
